Diagnodent ® Cavity Detection Laser
To help you achieve optimal oral health, the dental care that you and your family receive in our office always includes state-of-the-art equipment.
Among the newest technologies is a smaller laser instrument called the Diagnodent ®, which scans your teeth with harmless laser light searching for hidden decay that can be missed by x-rays or an explorer tip.
The Wand ®
The Wand is a computer-controlled anesthetic delivery system.
The Wand ® effectively controls the flow of anesthetic, delivering the correct amount of anesthetic at a rate that is painless. This provides quicker numbing of the teeth, without the usual numbness of the tongue, lips, and face.

Intra-Oral Camera
Intra-oral cameras have greatly improved the way we examine teeth. These pen-sized cameras take a picture of your teeth and project the live images onto a television screen in the treatment room.
This image is magnified, allowing Dr. Miller to see and detect any decay, cracked or leaking fillings, or other problems.
Digital X-Rays
Most people are concerned about exposure to radiation. Digital radiography eliminates these worries because it requires 90% less radiation than conventional film x-rays. This process is also better for the environment as it doesn’t use photo chemicals and traditional film, thus eliminating waste.
Computers
Computers in every treatment room enable our team to have immediate access to the files containing your health history and treatment plan, assuring consistency and quality of care.
Air Abrasion
Air abrasion dentistry is a conservative, less traumatic alternative to the high-speed drill.
It allows us to selectively remove decay, leaving a healthier tooth structure.
The procedure can often be done without anesthesia.
VELscope Oral Cancer Screening
In the past, most dentists have relied on visual observation alone to detect oral cancer. The low detection rate prompted the ADA to call for manufacturers to develop better diagnostic techniques.
VELscope Oral Cancer screening is the technique used in our offices to detect oral cancer.
When oral cancer is found at the earliest stage, treatment is quicker, simpler, less involved, and more than 90% successful! When oral cancer is diagnosed in a late-stage, treatment is expensive, disfiguring, and has a poor survival rate.
VELscope helps improve the way Dr. Miller examines your oral tissue to detect pre-cancer, cancer, and other disease processes that would otherwise be difficult to visualize during an exam.
Dental Laser
Laser dentistry can allow more comfortable dental treatment for patients as well as provide a precise and effective means of performing a wide range of dental procedures. Many laser treatments do not require anesthesia, the chance of bacterial infections is lowered because of treatment precision and, in addition, recovery time can be shortened.
Microscope
Used to aid in the diagnosis of periodontal disease this technology can give us a better idea of the severity of the disease. The microscope hones in on the type and amount of bacteria involved. Like the intraoral camera, the patient can see what is causing the disease process. Recent studies suggest a link between periodontal disease and other health complications including diabetes and heart disease.
